Did you know that ties between Ireland and Switzerland go back more than 1,000 years? Come and visit this richly illustrated exhibition that tells the story of the part played by Irish monks like Columbanus and Gallus in the early history of the European idea. Open to the public in Fribourg on Friday March 15th as part of Ireland Week celebrations around Switzerland, March 11th to 17th.
Display in English with French and German translations available.
Centre Le Phénix, rue des Alpes 7, Friday, March 15th 2pm to 6pm. Free entry.
Researched, written and curated by Dr Damian Bracken, University College Cork, and Dr Angela Byrne for the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs. The exhibition is hosted by the Irish Festival Fribourg/Freiburg with the support of the Embassy of Ireland.
